At the Feet of an Apostle of The Lord…Street Contacting,..280 Missionaries Strong…Mission Photo

Monday, P-Day was good.  I was on a missionary exchange with Elder L—-, my District Leader.  On Tuesday, we had Zone Conference.  It was good.  We found three new investigators when we were street contacting.

On Wednesdays we pick up milk from some church members.  Then we visited with a less active person named C——- J—–.  He said he would come to church.  This day we also found one more new investigator for the West Vancouver area and we met with a less-active member named G—.  He said he wanted to come and see Apostle of God.

(This is a photo of Apostle D. Todd Christofferson copied from his new Facebook page.)  On Thursday we did some weekly planning, but my companion, Elder T—– was feeling pretty bad so he went to bed and still continued getting sicker.  On Friday we went to former investigators that didn’t have phone numbers and pretty much traveled to Richmond to get a mission photo with all 280 of us missionaries (hope I get a copy of that photo).  We also prepared to be taught at the feet of an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ.   Saturday morning was the beginning of the spiritual feast.  It was great building my faith in the work I have been called to do.  Our Mission President Tilleman encouraged us to hold these things  we were taught in our hearts as sacred.  We also had a lesson with our investigator D— there.  He has a very strong faith in Jesus Christ and is really open to learning more of his Savior.

On the Sunday (Sabbath)  I was in the second row (at the feet of an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ ), near the front.  It was SOOO cool!  We did CFT and then went to our Ward Mission Leader Brother G——-

Thanks to all for their support, especially cousin Sharla and her care packages and fresh baked homemade cookies she brought to the Conference!   – Elder Clifton Winkler

    Hi Clifton I love to hear from you , what an amazing Missionary you are! This mission experience will be a foundation for you to build upon for the rest of your life and that is awesome to me. Thanks for your great example and work.
    I was listing to a retired general authority and he was talking about how to get answers to our prayers. He quoted DC section 4
    1 Now behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men.

    2 Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.

    3 Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work;

    4 For behold the field is white already to harvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up in store that he perish not, but bringeth salvation to his soul;

    5 And faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the work.

    6 Remember faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, diligence.

    7 Ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Amen.
    These are concepts I have understood but I have never used this scripture in relationship to getting answers to our prayers. So when we do our best to live these principles we will have answers to our prayers. Cool

    Keep your stick on the ice
    Dan
